Quickstart

Assign your first task to Rilo and see the result in under 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

  • A Rilo account with an active organization
  • Rilo added to your Slack workspace (or an email channel configured)

Step 1: Invite Rilo to a Slack Channel

Add Rilo to any Slack channel where you want to assign tasks:
  1. Open the Slack channel
  2. Type /invite @Rilo or add Rilo from the channel’s integrations settings
  3. Rilo will confirm it has joined the channel
Rilo processes tasks within the context of your organization. All data stays isolated to your org.

Step 2: Assign a Task

Send a message mentioning Rilo with a clear task description:
@Rilo What time is it in Tokyo right now?
For a more complex task:
@Rilo Research the company Acme Corp — find their website, recent news,
and key decision-makers. Summarize what you find.

Step 3: Watch Rilo Work

Rilo will:
  1. Acknowledge the task in the channel
  2. Plan the execution steps (tool selection, sequencing)
  3. Execute across your connected tools (browser, APIs, email)
  4. Report back with results in the same channel
For browser-based tasks, your organization may have live view enabled — you can watch the browser session in real time from the customer portal.

Step 4: Review Results

Rilo delivers results directly in your Slack channel or email thread. Results include:
  • The answer or deliverable you requested
  • Context about what tools were used and what steps were taken
  • Any follow-up questions if the task was ambiguous

Using Email Instead of Slack

You can also assign tasks via email:
  1. Send an email to your organization’s Rilo address: rilo@<your-company>.mail.riloworks.com
  2. Use the email subject as the task title
  3. Include details in the email body
  4. Rilo responds in the same email thread
